The MSOCS Maintenance Services team provides services that require frequent travel between our Residential sites. When a State-owned vehicle is not available and an employee is required to use their personal automobile to conduct authorized State business, the employee will be reimbursed at the current Federal IRS mileage reimbursement rate. The Building Maintenance Coordinator will provide inspection, assessment and repair of state-owned and/or leased homes, and any other sites operated by Community Based Service. This position will also afford a wide degree of independent action, including making repairs and coordinating needed vendor repair services to maintain the integrity of metro region state-owned property, preserve physical assets, and help maintain safe, healthful environment for MSOCS individuals, visitors and staff. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Determining the need and execute any remodeling or repairs of the buildings, • Develop specifications or plans • Facilitate condition audits on owned properties • Determine methods to accomplish the work, • Arrange for bids, and assist in awarding of contracts for performing the work, • Inspecting and approving the work, • Assist with fiscal control for the building remodeling, repair, and maintenance program.

PLEASE NOTE: Any time an employee bids, voluntarily transfers, or voluntarily demotes to fill a vacancy in an existing SOCS, any previously approved vacation may be rescinded if any employee already working in the SOCS has approved leave for any of the days.
